Darius Slay spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions and established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the game, but he now finds himself in some new digs.

Because the Lions and Slay could not come to terms on a new contract, Detroit traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this offseason, and the breakup has not exactly gone smoothly.

Slay has had his fair share of negative things to say about the Lions organization since departing. On Wednesday, he took yet another shot at his former club for not disguising their defensive packages, via Twitter.

To be fair, Slay didn't bring this up. But the fact that he doubled down rather than just choosing to ignore it shows that he probably still harbors some ill will against Detroit.

Slay, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was originally selected by the Lions in the second round (36th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He became a full-time starter in his second season, playing in every game and finishing with 61 tackles, a couple of interceptions and 17 passes defended.

After three straight solid years between 2014 and 2016, Slay finally broke out in 2017, racking up 60 tackles, eight picks, a fumble recovery, and 26 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

That marked the first of three straight trips to the Pro Bowl for Slay. Most recently, the 29-year-old tallied 46 tackles, a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 13 passes defended during his final season in Detroit.
