Jeff Okudah is ready for his next challenge. The Detroit Lionsthird overall selection from this year’s draft will have his work cut out for him when none other than Chad Johnson lines up with him.

On Thursday, Johnson had another one of those busy days working out with the Panthers’ Teddy Bridgewater and the Jaguars’ ninth overall pick C.J. Henderson. It was later in the afternoon when Johnson laid down the gauntlet to the Lions’ cornerback.

“Now I’m waiting to line up with you. You can’t run forever & I will trespass at the Lions facility if necessary ❗❗,” tweeted Johnson.

Surprisingly, it only took less than half an hour for Okudah to hand his brief, but emphatic response to the Bengals legend.

“Drop a 📍OG,” said the former Buckeye.

Okudah should get plenty of useful advice from Johnson who was known to run ridiculous routes during his playing days. An 11-year veteran in the NFL, Johnson was named to the All-Pro First-Team three times and a six-time Pro Bowl selection. He holds multiple receiving records with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Much will be asked from the third overall pick in the Lions’ upcoming campaign. Detroit hopes that Okudah’s presence will be able to improve on their 26th-ranked overall defense last season. Okudah has been viewed as the best cornerback available according to The Draft Network’s scouting report.

“Jeffrey Okudah's off a spaceship, man. Players with his flexibility and fluidity don't have his length and size, and even players with such a physical profile don't have the eyes and mind that Okudah does. Okudah's elite ability to play with both his eyes in the backfield and his back to the ball stems from extremely quick eyes, a balanced base, and insane reactionary athleticism.”

Okudah has amassed 83 tackles and 3 interceptions in his three-year stint with the Ohio State University.
