Matt Patricia has expressed his desire to see the Detroit Lions' defense perform better. The Lions are doing just that to begin Sunday's game against the New York Giants. At the beginning of the first quarter, Detroit's defense got a scoop and score on a Daniel Jones fumble.

The Lions sent Jarrad Davis on a blitz and he was able to get his hands on Daniel Jones in the pocket. As a result, Jones made a rookie mistake and threw the ball back toward Saquon Barkley.

While the ball was bouncing on the ground, Devon Kennard recovered the fumble and dove into the end zone. Kennard spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants, making his first touchdown in the NFL even better.

The defensive touchdown gives Detroit the early lead and will put a smile on Patricia's face.
