Just two months before the NBA stoppage in March, Lu Dort was still playing in the G-League. Now, Dort is the leading scorer in a Game 7 in the NBA Playoffs that included James Harden and Russell Westbrook. The performance shocked everyone, unless you've been paying attention.

On today’s Locked On Thunder Podcast, host Rylan Stiles explained why Lu Dort’s scoring explosion should not be as much of a surprise as people made it out to be.

Rylan Stiles: A lot of good in this game, almost exclusively good in this game from the door. And I told you after that horrendous offensive performance, I told you on the very same recap show, don't give up on Dort. I told you all the assets he has offensively, he showed every single one of them in this game, including the ability to bounce back from beyond the arc. He played a great game. He was your leading scorer tonight, which is another reason why OKC lost, but he was your leading scorer tonight. He took the most attempts of any player on this team. He was your leading bucket getter, and he did so efficiently.

The MVP of the game has to be Lu Dort, the best rookie performance in the playoffs with a Thunder player ever, and his career high of 30 points while playing some very good defense and going 50% from beyond the arc. Which, if you heard some people talk after his bad game, he was the next Andre Roberson. I've always told you. That is not the case with Lou Dort. He is not an offensive liability. He proved me right today.
