Orlando Magic rookie Jalen Suggs hurt his hand during Thursday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Boston Celtics, and now, it will keep him out for the rest of the competition.

According to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Suggs sustained a sprained thumb and will be sidelined for the remainder of the Summer League as he recovers from the injury.

Jalen Suggs played only in the first half against the Celtics before he was ruled out for a sore left hand. He did not return in the third quarter of the contest, finishing with six points, two rebounds, two steals and just one assist in 11 minutes of play.

However, he did show a lot of promise in his time on the court. Most noteworthy about his performance, however, was his finishing ability at the rim.

It's certainly unfortunate that Jalen Suggs won't be able to finish the competition. He put up 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in his debut for the Magic against the Golden State Warriors. He then followed it with a 16-point, eight-rebound and five-assist performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Suggs was projected to be a Top 3 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he fell to fifth and Orlando was able to snag him. Given that he is considered a top talent who is expected to be one of the leaders of the franchise, it is not surprising to see the team exercise caution on his health.

After all, the Magic surely prefers to have him healthy and ready for the 2021-22 season when they can experience the real intensity of the NBA.
