After only joining Man City in 2020, winger Ferran Torres is already on his way back to Spain. Barcelona has reached an agreement with the Citizens to buy the youngster for a total of €65 million in January and by no surprise, Pep Guardiola was asked about the situation.

Via City Xtra:

“If you are not happy, you have to leave. Man City is not a club like other teams when you want to leave CEO and president say no”,

“If Ferrán wants to leave and go to Barcelona, absolutely no problem – I'm happy for him.”

Guardiola undoubtedly has a soft spot for Barca after spending four years in the Camp Nou dugout. But, he certainly makes a valid point. A happy footballer will always play at his best.

Torres hasn't played for Man City since before the international break in October where he suffered a foot injury with Spain. It'd be interesting to know if he would actually be departing if he stayed healthy because Torres had proven to be a key part of their attack.

Although there is an agreement between the two European giants, Barcelona still has work to do. They're in serious debt and will need to offload a few different players in order to register Torres.

In 43 appearances for Man City, Torres netted 16 times. Given the direction Barca is heading in, this is a fantastic signing for them. As for City, they're flying high and shouldn't miss the Spaniard too much.
