It's finally happening. Erling Haaland is coming to Man City, with the announcement expected to be made in the coming days. There had been much speculation as to where the Norwegian could end up this summer, but he ultimately chose to bring his talents to the Premier League.

Also, he is set to become City's highest earner alongside Kevin De Bruyne. Per Fabrizio Romano:

That number translates to $462,643.50 USD per week. That is absolutely wild, but Haaland has proven over the last couple of years he is worth every penny Man City is giving him.

Since making the switch from RB Salzburg to Dortmund in January 2020, Haaland has scored 85 goals in just 88 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit and even netted 10 times in eight Champions League outings last term. The 21-year-old continues to thrive this season, bagging 21 goals and tallying seven assists in league action.

More importantly, Man City finally gets a true No. 9. They haven't had one since Sergio Aguero left and although Pep Guardiola's men typically score goals at an impressive rate, adding a legitimate striker up top should make a massive difference, especially with the top-class playmakers already in the squad. Perhaps Haaland is the missing piece to finally winning Europe's most prestigious competition.
