Cristiano Ronaldo began his second stint at Man United in magical fashion on Saturday as he netted a brace against Newcastle in front of the Red Devils supporters at Old Trafford. The 36-year-old spoke on his debut following the 4-1 victory over the Magpies and made one thing clear: Manchester is home. Via Sky Sports:

Cristiano even admitted that he was slightly nervous ahead of the fixture because of all the Man United fans who showed up to watch him put on a clinic. Needless to say, he didn’t disappoint. Ronaldo got off the mark just before the halftime whistle when he tapped home a rebound from a Mason Greenwood shot from distance:

Newcastle equalized shortly after the second period began, but the Portuguese international was back at it again in the 62nd minute as he made a terrific run in behind onto a picture-perfect through ball from Luke Shaw and calmly fired home with his left foot:

You couldn’t have asked for a better performance from the Man United star, who looked extremely comfortable back at the club. While there has been a fair share of doubters that Ronaldo can score at the same level considering his age, he quickly put those conversations to bed with this masterclass. Surely, there will be many more goals to come from Cristiano Ronaldo as Man United looks to make their mark in Europe and England this season.
