Paul Pogba has a lot of reasons to stay with Manchester United despite being linked to a wide array of top European clubs.

In the previous transfer windows, Paul Pogba was a top target for clubs such as Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. Adding to the drama was his agent Mino Raiola, who has been strongly suggesting that he is likely to depart Manchester United.

However, the narrative has changed and Pogba is now believed to be “leaning towards” extending his stay at Manchester United after being impacted by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, The Athletic reported.

Moreover, it is said that there is a feeling of optimism in Manchester United that the 28-year-old will opt to renew his contract.

Recently addressing Pogba’s situation, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer implied that he’s banking on his team’s “winning” mentality in luring the World Cup winner.

“It's up to us now to get results and to prove to ourselves we can win trophies,” Solskjaer said when asked about how they could convince Pogba to stay. “Everyone who signs for Man United wants to win trophies. To be a part of a winning Man United, it's the most magical feeling in the world.”

“Everyone's just focusing on doing our best and let's see where we go,” the manager continued.

As for Pogba’s performance, Solskjaer emphasized that the Frenchman has been superb whether he gets an assist or not.

“Paul has come back in good shape,” he said. “He's worked really hard over the summer. He's come back lean and fit. What does an assist consist of? A square pass to Bruno and he puts it in the top corner? Or a great ball for Mason? Paul has always been a great passer and he's not got assists from his best passes this season. I don't pay attention to assists, it's a social media thing. But Paul has played well for sure.”
