Through the first few weeks of free agency, the Memphis Grizzlies have seen several of their own free agents sign elsewhere.

However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Grizzlies have agreed to bring back veteran guard Mario Chalmers on a one-year deal.

This comes shortly after the 31-year-old posted on his Instagram a photo of himself in a Grizzlies uniform that led many to believe that he signaled his return back to Memphis.

The 31-year-old had suffered a torn right Achilles back in March 2016 and was waived shortly thereafter by the Grizzlies. Prior to the injury, Chalmers averaging a career-high 10.8 points along with 3.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 22.8 per game.

In the first 7 1/2 seasons of his career with the Miami Heat, Chalmers served as the starting point guard that included four straight NBA Finals appearances, winning two titles.

He went through the entire 2016-17 season unsigned as he recovered from his Achilles injury. His addition brings further depth to the backcourt as he could vie for playing time as the primary backup to Mike Conley.
