University of Washington standout freshman Markelle Fultz is, by most experts, locked as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. The talented scorer met with six of the top eight teams in the lottery during the NBA Draft Combine this past week, according to SiriusXM NBA Radio.

The soon-to-be 19-year-old has high ambitions for his NBA career, saying he would love to learn from one of the best point guards to ever play the game, Magic Johnson.

While Johnson's Lakers only have a 15.6 percent chance to land the No. 1 pick of the draft and potentially swoop Fultz with it, the lanky Maryland native plans to be the best point guard to ever play, which would mean passing Magic himself in the process, per SiriusXM.

While this sort of bravado and ambition is not uncommon in rookies trying to make good first impressions on teams, it is certainly a very tall task to achieve and one that does not come without years of work put forward to net.

Markelle Fultz's innate scoring ability, 7-foot wingspan and basketball IQ make him a prime candidate for being the top pick of the draft, showcasing just what the NBA wants in a player that's ready to go pro.

Kansas' Josh Jackson and UCLA's Lonzo Ball aren't far behind in the rankings at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively, but can jump to that first overall selection if a team is willing to trade up or address certain needs, which they can certainly get in a very talent-heavy first 10 picks.

Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery will determine where the first 14 teams will pick come June. The event will be live on ESPN tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
