New Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd is continuing to add to his coaching staff ahead of the upcoming season.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Mavs have elected to hire two-time WNBA champion and three-time WNBA All-Star Kristi Toliver as an assistant coach.

As Wojnarowski noted, Toliver is coming off of a two-season stint as a full-time assistant coach with the Washington Wizards. She earned the immediate approval of now-former Wizards head coach Scott Brooks and found key success while with the team.

Wojnarowski further adds that Toliver will still feature with the Los Angeles Sparks over this season, as she is under contract with the team through the 2022 season.

Toliver has been a formidable contributor to the Sparks this season thanks to her potent guard play and sheer veteran presence. The former EuroLeague champion has also turned back the clock on several instances this season, which include a vintage 22-point showing against the Indiana Fever. Even after sitting out the previous season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the former first-round pick is showing that at the age of 34, she still has plenty left in the tank.

As mentioned, Kidd has been working to fill up his coaching staff as of late. Last month, he brought in former Slovenian national team head coach Igor Kokoskov as an assistant coach.

The Mavericks head into the upcoming season with plenty of expectations as they aim to build on their recent Western Conference first-round appearance.
