The Dallas Mavericks have been plagued with injuries to their stars this season. Kristaps Porzingis has been in and out of the lineup with nagging injuries and super star Luka Doncic has missed the last couple games with an ankle injury. According to Mavs reporter Callie Caplan, Mavs head coach Jason Kidd provided an update on Doncic prior to Wednesday's game vs the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was already announced that Doncic would not play Wednesday, but now it appears he will not be traveling with the team to Minnesota for Sunday's game either.

Luka Doncic injured his ankle last Friday night in a loss to the Indiana Pacers. The injury is not reported to be serious, but it is serious enough that he will now miss at least four games.

In his absence, guard Jalen Brunson has filled in admirably, with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists combined over the last two games. But that is obviously far fetched from the production Doncic brings to the table.

The Mavs are 14-13 on the season and are only 2.5 games behind the division leader. The Memphis Grizzlies are 17-11, atop the Southwest division. San Antonio, Houston and New Orleans are all well below .500, so it is a two-team race for the division.

Doncic is having another stellar season for the Mavs. He is averaging a shade under 26 points per game, on 45% shooting from the field. He is also bringing down eight rebounds and dropping eight dimes per game for the Mavericks.

Dallas hopes to get Doncic back for next Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
