Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a lingering ankle injury; however, that might not be the only game he'd miss moving forward.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Doncic is expected to miss multiple games because of the left ankle issue that has been bothering him for weeks now. It is still unknown how long he'll be out, with the Mavs in the process of determining a timetable for his recovery, but he is now set to miss their game against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.

Luka Doncic sustained the injury in mid-November during their game against the Denver Nuggets. He missed three straight contests after that before returning and playing five games in a row. He was ruled out against the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this month due to the same issue, and while he was back after that, it's clear he's not the same.

In their game against Indiana, which saw the Mavs lose 106-93, Doncic admitted he wasn't feeling better in the fourth quarter and should have rested instead.

“I probably shouldn't have played in the fourth,” Doncic said about the game, per Stein. “I wasn't feeling very good but I tried to be out there.”

This is certainly a concerning development for Doncic and the Mavs, especially since the team have lost in all the games he did not play in this season. Dallas certainly cannot rush him now as well considering how the injury keeps bothering him.

Kristaps Porzingis will now have to take over for the franchise in the absence of Doncic, but it certainly won't be easy.
