Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young has had ankle issues in the past, and he feels terrible for his good pal Luka Doncic who is currently dealing with the same situation at the moment. The Dallas Mavericks' best player was unable to return in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, after spraining his left ankle during a defensive sequence.

Young quickly sent out his best wishes for Doncic' speedy recovery by posting the folded hands/prayers up emoji on Twitter.

Without the Slovenian prodigy at their disposal, the Mavs fell, 122-130, against the Clippers and now trail two games to one in their best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series. Luka Doncic's status for Game 4 remains uncertain, but Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle remains optimistic that he will be ready to go.

Trae Young, meanwhile, is no stranger to how hard it is to play with a compromised ankle. The one-time All-Star had to be carried off the court during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks last December after sustaining a high-grade right ankle sprain. Young was expected to miss up to two weeks, but managed to return to the floor after just a couple of games.

Doncic, on the other hand, was still able to walk on his own after the injury, which is certainly a good sign for the Mavericks. The 6-foot-7 guard has been having a phenomenal season in just his second year, dropping unreal averages of 28.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.0 steal prior to Friday's game.

Doncic and Young does have a friendly rivalry going on after finishing first and second, respectively, in last year's Rookie of the Year race. Still, it's nice to see Young look out for his bretheren during unfrotunate times such as this one.
