On Wednesday, it was announced that Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki has been invited to participate in the NBA's Three-Point Contest at All-Star Weekend next month. Nowitzki's former Mavericks teammate Jason Terry then took that news a step further, asking for a shoot between him and Nowitzki.

Nowitzki and Terry played eight years together on Dallas, reaching two finals and winning an NBA championship during the 2010-11 campaign.

The two formed one of the better inside-out duos in the league, and with Nowitzki's smooth stroke from downtown coupled with Terry's penchant for making big shots, the two made one of the most feared late-game tandems in the NBA.

Terry served as a sixth man during the Mavericks' title run in 2011, averaging 15.8 points, 4.1 assists and 1.1 steals over 31.3 minutes per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from three-point range and 85 percent from the free-throw line.

He was even more impressive during that playoff run, registering 17.5 points, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals across 32.6 minutes a night while making 47.8 percent of his field-goal attempts, 44.2 percent of his long-distance tries and 84.3 percent of his foul shots.

Of course, the most memorable moments of Terry's run in 2011 was the late three-pointer he drained over LeBron James in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, helping send Dallas to a 3-2 series lead.

While Terry is certainly no Nowitzki, he can still shoot the three-ball very well, as he is a lifetime 38 percent three-point shooter. Terry is not currently with an NBA team. He last played with the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
