In Monday's win over the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic became just the third player since the NBA-ABA merger to notch four straight 30-10-5 games.

Doncic finished with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. He joins Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant as the only three players to post similar numbers in four straight games.

The streak started in the Mavs' New Year's Eve loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Doncic posted 35 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

In the next game, a win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Slovenian dropped 31 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. And in their loss to the Charlotte Hornets, the 20-year-old had 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. It's an impressive feat. But this is just a small part of what Doncic has done in his first two years in the league.

So far, he's averaging 29.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. More than the statistics, Doncic is helping the Mavs lock up a great season. They currently sport a 23-13 record and have a good chance at qualifying for the postseason for the time since the 2015-16 season.

Given the team's success, fans and critics have continually praised Doncic's efforts. He quickly entered the MVP race and is on a steady route to becoming the youngest MVP in league history. And in the first returns of the All-Star votes, the Slovenian was the top vote-getter, eclipsing LeBron James — arguably the most popular basketball figure in the last decade or so. Some see it as a sort of the passing of the torch as James ruled the 2010s.

Now, it's Doncic's turn to be the face of the league.
