The Dallas Mavericks are off to an impressive 11-5 start to the 2019-20 season large in part due to the sensational production of franchise-centerpiece Luka Doncic.

It seems as if Doncic has been able to make history on a nightly basis when he suits up for the Mavs. The latest example of his impressive achievements is that he became the first player since Oscar Robertson to average at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists through the initial 16 games of a season.

While many have been highlighting the greatness that Doncic has provided for a 20-year-old, he is personally focused on doing whatever it takes to make the Mavs a playoff team.

“For me, it's making the playoffs still,” said Doncic, via Tim McMahon of ESPN. “It's a long season. It's only been one month. We didn't make the playoffs yet, so we've just got to keep going right now.”

It's one thing for players to achieve individual success, but it's another when it's translating to team success, too. That's what has happened with Doncic and the Mavs so far this season. He is on pace to have the greatest statistical performance from a 20-year-old in NBA history over the course of a season and Dallas is currently third in the Western Conference.

The timeline for the Mavs appears to be rapidly accelerating as Doncic continues to raise his game. The team is still early in the chemistry building process and secondary star Kristaps Porziņģis has made progress in finding a rhythm since his long period of absence from basketball due to an ACL injury.

The Mavericks are back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.
