Mavs swingman Luka Doncic is just 19 years of age, but he's already making waves in the NBA. In fact, the Slovenian-born star is on pace to set a new rookie record.

Through his first seven games played with the Mavs this season, Doncic has racked up averages of 20.4 points on 45.9 percent shooting from the field (38.8 percent from beyond the arc), 6.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and just under one steal (0.9) in 35.7 minutes per outing.

If Doncic can maintain this level of production for a bit longer, he will become the only rookie in NBA history to average 20/6/4 before the age of 21.

Though the Mavs were defeated in overtime, 113-109, Doncic posted a solid performance against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. In 40 minutes of action, the former No. 3 overall pick tallied 31 points (career-high) on 11-of-18 shooting (4-of-6 from downtown), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal.

23 of Luka's 31 points against the Spurs came in the second half and overtime, despite the fact that he was dealing with a strained back.

“So-so, but I'm not going to stop,” Doncic told ESPN when asked how his back was.

Just for the record, Doncic is now the third-youngest player in NBA history to record 30 points and eight rebounds in a game. Who were the other two, you ask? LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

The Mavs will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll travel to Los Angeles for a match-up against the Lakers. Tip-off inside the STAPLES Center is set for 10:30 p.m. EST.
