Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has been upgraded to questionable for Game 3 of their playoff series with the Utah Jazz.

Doncic has missed the first two contests of the series due to a left calf strain he sustained in the final game of the regular season. He was listed as doubtful prior to both matchups, so seeing him questionable is a step in the right direction.

Of course a “questionable” label doesn't guarantee that he will play. It basically means he's 50-50, but if recent reports are to be considered, there is a good chance that the Slovenian wonderboy plays.

The Mavs are increasing Luka Doncic's activity as they look to assess when he can truly return to game action. The 23-year-old, for his part, admitted that it's unlikely he'll be 100 percent real soon. Nonetheless, he'll still play as long as there is no risk of re-injuring his calf.

“I don’t know if I’m going to be 100 percent. I think that’s tough right now. But if I’m ready and there’s no risk of [aggravating the] injury, I’ll be out there,” Doncic explained.

Dallas tied the series with the Jazz 1-1 behind Jalen Brunson's heroics in Game 2, lessening the pressure on Doncic to return as soon as possible. Had the Mavs fallen to 0-2, the superstar guard would certainly rush to play in Game 3.

Of course the hope is for Luka to play by Thursday, but his long-term health is the no. 1 priority. For now, fans just have to wait and see what Doncic will do when they visit Salt Lake City and play the Jazz.
