Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks just let off some major steam. The Golden State Warriors didn't know what hit them in what turned out to be an extremely lopsided affair with final score, 133-103.

After the game Doncic made it know exactly what lit the fire that sparked the Mavs' scorching performance against the Dubs.

The Mavs were reeling from a frustrating loss to the Sacramento Kings from just the night before. They were fresh off back-to-back wins over the Los Angeles Lakers, but fell to a Kings squad that torched them for a huge lead early in the 1st quarter.

Luka Doncic and his men were taking notes apparently, as the Mavs tripled up the Warriors in the first quarter, 36-12. Doncic led the charge, torching the nets for 39 points through three quarters, including 23 points in the third frame alone.

Their win comes at a critical juncture in the Western Conference playoff race. The Mavs are currently sitting at the coveted 6th spot, just ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers for the final seed safe from the play-in tournament. A loss would have put them tied with Portland, and more crucially just 2.5 games ahead of the 10th seeded Warriors.

After sweeping the Lakers last week, the Mavs also stand just two games back of Los Angeles for the 5th spot. The single spot of separation is the difference between playing a Jamal Murray-less Denver Nuggets team, or a rematch with a motivated Los Angeles Clippers squad that already beat them handily last year. With such a finite total of games left to be played, every win is monumental for seeding at this point.
