Luka Doncic has been having an incredible rookie season. In the Dallas Mavericks' matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Doncic added a milestone to his already impressive list of first-year feats.

This put Luka Doncic down as only the second player in NBA history to record a triple-double at the age of 19. Last season, Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz set the record for youngest player to record a triple-double at 19 years, 317 days — a cutoff that Luka narrowly missed.

On the season, the rookie Doncic is averaging 20.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals. Since breaking out early in the season, Doncic has been the leading scorer for the Mavs and their go-to guy on most possessions.

This wasn’t his first game recording double-digit assists, which he had done three times previously, or double-digit rebounds, which he has pulled off five times already.

His stunning season isn’t going unnoticed by any means, either. With the third return of All-Star votes coming in on Jan. 17, Doncic was the second overall vote-getter in the Western Conference and received the third most votes out of all league players, only behind LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo. An obvious fan-favorite already, there is a legitimate possibility that Luka could be starting in the All-Star game in just his first season.

It is worth noting that the arrival of his first triple-double came off of 4-15 shooting. Doncic, who has been in a shooting slump over the last few games, will need to relocate his shot as the Mavs fight to climb back into playoff seating. They currently sit at 13th in the West with a 20-25 record.

Thankfully for the Mavs, who has a clear desire to chase a spot in the postseason, Luka finds a way to make an impact even when he isn’t scoring.
