The Dallas Mavericks recently inked superstar Luka Doncic to a five-year supermax rookie extension worth $207 million. The Mavs did what they were expected to do.

NBA players travel a lot and usually are bored when they are up in the sky. They usually play card games to further bond with each other or just to pass by time.

After this rich deal, JJ Redick, who was Doncic's teammate last season, hilariously demanded Luka to pay up all of his obligations to him after losing in one of their card games.

Luka Doncic was selected in the first round, third overall pick, in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He was then traded to the Dallas Mavericks for Trae Young and a first-round pick. The deal proved to be a win for both teams because  Young is playing at a high level with the Hawks and also inked an extension earlier in the offseason.

Doncic has earned and is worth every penny of this extension. He has been named a two-time NBA All-Star and been on the All-NBA First Team twice despite being just a junior in the league.

Luka is a once-in-a-generation kind of talent and Dallas is very lucky to have him. In his first three seasons with the Mavs, Doncic averaged 25.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

The Slovenian also rises up to the occasion since he performs very well come playoff time. He upped his scoring average to 33.5, his rebounding to 8.8, and assists to 9.5.

It will be interesting to see if the Mavs can supply Luka with the right talent to help them win a championship. They lost in the first round in each of the last two postseasons.
