Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has captivated the basketball world since he was a teenager and even more since coming to the NBA. He has been named an All-Star starter this year and has merited MVP consideration.

Now, one of the super rare cards of the Mavs star  just sold for a record amount, according to Darren Rovell.

That's an awful lot of money for a card, and perhaps one of the reasons why is because everybody envisions he will get better and be one of the faces of the NBA sooner rather than later. The card that was sold was reportedly a National Treasure NBA Logoman one of one.

Luka Doncic has already made his mark on the league and quickly became the face of the Mavs franchise with hopes of an NBA title surrounding him, even in just his third year in the league.

He was named a starter for the Western Conference All-Star team and has had a terrific season so far, even with the Mavericks being one of the more disappointing teams in the league.

The Mavs have struggled and are at a .500 record overall, sitting right outside the Top 8 of the West–although they could very well drop to 10 and still have a shot due to the play-in tournament that was instituted last season. However, Luka has played well all season long.

Doncic is averaging 28.5 points with 8.4 boards and 9.0 assists through the first chunk of the year and has easily been the most important player in Dallas. He's taken the league by storm, and the Mavs will do whatever they can to get him some help in an effort to make a run for a playoff spot in the West.

As Doncic continues to get older and better, his merchandise will likely keep going up, even though $4 million for a card is already an outrageous amount.
