The Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night took on the Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Center, which brought an opportunity for veteran guard Jason Terry to play at his old stomping grounds.

It was also a chance for his former head coach Jason Terry to speak glowingly about the former Sixth Man of the Year following the contest, according to the Associated Press.

“I knew he was gonna score,” Carlisle said. “I was gonna clap, I wasn't sure how appropriate that was. You know how I feel about him, that's one of the reasons we're all wearing rings here.”

During his eight-year tenure with the Mavericks, Terry was one of the beloved players with the franchise that helped lead them to a tremendous amount of success while averaging 16.1 points in 619 games played. Dallas was a constant in the playoffs making it in every season while winning a pair of Southwest Division titles and won more than 50 games in seven straight campaigns.

Terry was a huge factor during the 2011 NBA title run averaging 17.5 points on 47.8 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from beyond the arc in 32.6 minutes in 21 games played all off the bench. His scoring punch proved to be a vital part of their postseason success.

All of this could at some point in time shortly after Terry retires could lead to him getting his jersey put in the rafters at the American Airlines Center.
