Kristaps Porzingis reportedly loves Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic, and the Dallas Mavericks are confident they will be able to re-sign KP in the summer to a long-term deal, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Kristaps Porzingis becomes a restricted free agent in the summer. Dirk Nowitzki is expected to retire after this season, but he's going to be around the organization a lot and will have a lot of say in convincing Porzingis to stay in Dallas.

Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL last season. He is still recovering from surgery and there is no timetable for his return to the court.

The Mavs do have some of the best doctors and training staff in the NBA, so that will be a positive for Porzingis and his camp.

Once he's healthy and ready to play, Porzingis and Luka Doncic have the potential to become a lethal duo for the Mavs.

Dallas had Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki run the pick-and-roll/pop for years, and now they hope to have Doncic and KP do the same thing for the next decade.

Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle has to be licking his chops right now thinking about the plays he's going to be able to call with Porzingis and Doncic.
