In just his first year in basketball's biggest stage, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks already has a deadly signature move. His latest victim? DeMarcus Cousins of the Golden State Warriors.

In their game on Saturday, the Mavs rookie slowly sized up Cousins after the two were matched up. When Doncic saw Cousins' defense was vulnerable, he then unleashed his vaunted step-back 3-pointer — and it was all net.

Luka Doncic is probably going to win this year's top rookie honors. The only other player that comes close to him, according to analysts, is Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks. But given that Young only bloomed later on in the season, he won't catch to what Doncic has done for the entire year.

Much has already been said with regard to the 20-year-old's basketball talents. Perhaps his step-back move says it all. For it to be effective, a player needs to have both a reliable outside shot and inside game. And it's amazing to see defenders respect Doncic's abilities on offense. He's not the type of player whom you can sag off.

As seen in the clip, the Mavs rising star drained three step-back 3-pointers. Two of which over Draymond Green — one of the league's best defenders. It's a scary thought of how good the Slovenian will be when he enters his prime.
