New York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar was part of a scary moment on Monday night when he took a 94 mph fastball directly to the face from Atlanta Braves pitcher Jacob Webb. It was a gruesome scene as Pillar was left bloodied from the pitch.

Here's the play:

Luckily, Pillar seems to be doing okay. The Mets veteran took to Twitter afterward to reveal his status:

Pillar had to leave the game after taking the pitch to the face in the seventh inning. He went to a local hospital for a CT scan. Webb was removed from the game after hitting Pillar.

Mets manager Luis Rojas praised Pillar's toughness after the game, via ESPN:

“This guy is a warrior,” Rojas said. “He shows up every day to play hard, and you saw him. He got up on his feet and left. There's no chance I thought he was going to be able to do that after I saw where the ball hit him in the face. He got up and he left. That's at least one positive to see.”

The hit-by-pitch came with the bases loaded and gave the Mets a 2-0 lead. They ultimately took home a 3-1 victory, hence the hashtags by Pillar in his tweet.

The 32-year-old outfielder is hitting .250 on the season with two home runs and eight RBI. New York moved to 19-16 on the season, which is first in the NL East.

Let's hope Kevin Pillar gets back on the field soon after this terrifying moment at Truist Park.
