Michael Chandler has been a fun addition to the UFC roster after making his debut back in January. He beat Dan Hooker by knockout and went on to face Charles Oliveria for the vacant lightweight title.

Unfortunately, things didn't fall his way and Michael Chandler would lose by knockout in the second round. Now Charles Oliveria defends his title against Dustin Poirier while Chandler takes on Justin Gaethje.

Michael Chandler recently appeared on The MMA Hour where he discussed the upcoming lightweight title fight. He also made a pick and gave his thoughts on who he thought would win the fight.

“I think Dustin Poirier,” Michael Chandler said recently on The MMA Hour (transcription via MMAFighting). “I think they’re both complete fighters. I think Oliveira has shown over his last couple of fights, especially the fight against me, his hands have come along. He is basic and he hits hard. He hits harder than we think. His grappling is obviously always been on-point, but I just think Dustin Poirier is a little bit better in every area. I think Dustin Poirier’s cardio [is better]. I think Dustin Poirier’s ability to get him hurt and finish the fight, like I wasn’t able to do, is second to none. I think Dustin Poirier wins that fight by a third or fourth-round stoppage.”

Michael Chandler has an exciting fight booked himself as he takes the always game Justin Gaethje in a three-round bout at UFC 268. The bout is set to help determine who could potentially be next to face the winner of Oliveira-Poirier.
