The NBA offseason has yet to hit full-crazy mode, as that is expected to happen in the free agency period, but that’s also not to say that we haven’t been served with some bizarre news lately. Just take for example this strange story about NBA Draft lottery prospect Kevin Knox, who reportedly was sort of put under interrogation by an unnamed team asking the Kentucky product whether the rumors they’ve heard about him being a father are true or not, per Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated.

Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

As odd as it sounds, it’s still not as weird as that of the kind of questioning Washington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice had to face during the NFL Combine in which he said he was asked whether he likes men.

Knox is expected to be taken early in the draft with most mock drafts projecting him to go anywhere within the top 8-14 range.

The 6-foot-9 Kevin Knox spent one year in Lexington under head coach John Calipari, finishing his college career having averaged 15.6 points on 44.5 percent shooting from the field, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 37 games for the Wildcats.
