After ESPN standout Rachel Nichols made some questionable comments about co-worker Maria Taylor recently, the network has decided to make some changes ahead of the NBA Finals.

According to the New York Post's Andrew Marchand, they've taken Rachel Nichols off sideline reporting duties for the Suns-Bucks and plan to put Malika Andrews in her place:

It's important to note that Nichols will continue to host the Jump. Just a few days ago, the New York Times revealed leaked footage of Rachel Nichols saying how Maria Taylor was getting to cover last year's finals because of ESPN's “crappy history with diversity”.

By no surprise, she faced backlash for the comments and even apologized for her wrongdoings during an episode of the Jump on Monday afternoon in Phoenix ahead of Game 1 on Tuesday night.

Andrews meanwhile, usually covers the Eastern Conference but now she will get the opportunity to take center stage at the finals as a result. Rachel Nichols will surely not be very happy about ESPN's decision to snub her from the big stage, but with all the drama surrounding her right now, it may have been the right move.

The series opener is scheduled for 6 PM PST in the desert as the Suns look to take a quick lead on home court.
