Andrea Bargnani was the talk of the town in 2006 when he was selected with the first overall pick by the Toronto Raptors. Bargnani had a few good seasons with the Raptors, but was hit by injuries and soon left the NBA to play in Europe. Bargnani last played in the Liga ACB for Baskonia. He was supposed to become the Raptors' franchise player, but certain things didn't go according to plan. In his stint with the New York Knicks, Jackson highly criticized Bargnani, which spoke volumes about why the power forward never evolved into the player that the Raptors drafted him to be.

The other day I went on my Facebook page after a long time and I read many of your messages. First of I all I want to apologize to you for my “shameful” non-propensity to the social networks and for all the messages I have not answered.
In all (or almost all) the messages you ask me the same things, the questions that you make me when you stop me on the streets: how I am and when I come back.
So, I wanted to tell you that I am physically fine but, after the breaching of my last two contracts, wanted by myself, I am not looking for a club. All of the news you have read on my on newspapers, especially market news, have been invented (and this is nothing new).
The reasons why I am not looking for a team are a lot and almost all of them are personal. People who know me, know this since months, but I wanted to share with you, those who have been following and supporting me over the years because it seemed unpleasant not to give you an answer. I am very grateful for the love you show me.
Apparently, Bargnani doesn't want to return to the NBA any time soon. Nonetheless, he does seem grateful for the love and support that his fans showed to him over the years.
