Ex-NBA player and Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade has no plan to unretire, at least at the moment.

Wade, who played 16 seasons in the league, decided to call it a career last season. He has stated on multiple occasions that he will not play in the NBA again, but he told Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview that he'll continue to stay in shape “just in case something happens.”

“I'm done, but my trainer is going to keep me in shape just in case something happens,” Wade said. “I'm going to stay in shape because you never know. Never say never.”

Prior to the start of free agency, there have been multiple rumors about Wade possibly coming out of retirement to join LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers or team up with Jimmy Butler with the Miami Heat. D-Wade already squashed both speculations, saying that he's happily retired and is getting used to post-NBA life.

Another possible destination for Dwyane Wade in the future is the BIg3. Founded by rapper and entrepreneur Ice Cube, it's a 3-on-3 basketball league that allows former NBA players as well as current free agents to continue playing the game that they love. Of course, staying in shape doesn't mean D-Wade is heading this route, but who knows? He might consider it next year.

A lot of people still believe that Wade has a lot left in his tank, but the three-time champion has made it clear he's given everything to basketball — he's done.

Then again, he also said ‘never say never' in the same statement. So believe what you want to believe and we'll see what happens in the future.
