The NBA has fined Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler and Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren for their roles in a heated altercation on Wednesday night.

Warren was fined $25,000 for “engaging” in the altercation and making an obscene gesture that ensued in his ejection. Butler was fined $35,000 for engaging and escalating the incident on social media after the game:

Warren pursued Butler after the two exchanged some choice words on Wednesday, flipping him off as he walked away from the altercation. That obscene gesture resulted in his second technical foul of the game and consequent ejection.

Jimmy Butler took to social media after the game, circling Mar. 20 as the date these two teams will meet again, noting he will see what Warren is about once the two face up against one another. The Heat star had also indirectly advised Pacers head coach Nate McMillan to never put Warren on him “ever again,” as he managed to get past him with ease during the Heat's 122-108 win:

Butler told Warren “you're f***ing trash” after he drove past him in the third quarter of Wednesday's game but was fouled on the play. This was the second of two moments in which the two had words during the tilt, as Miami sported a 23-point lead.

Once Warren was tossed, Butler followed by antagonizing him and waving goodbye as he was escorted out of the arena.

Jimmy Butler has had a history of being a vocal star and active on social media, but in this instance his habits will cost him an extra $10,000 check to the league office. He's probably not all that worried about it, though, given his Heat are currently 27-10, good for second in the Eastern Conference. He's also well on his way to making another All-Star Game.
