Veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas has been looking for a new team for some time, and he is finally feeling fully healthy.

Thomas said he is feeling much better physically after undergoing a hip procedure to fix a lingering issue:

“It's like night and day for me,” Isaiah Thomas said, via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. “There's no more pain. I've got my full range of motion. For three years, I was trying to play the best players in the world on one leg. I needed help from my kids to put my socks on in the morning.

“Now, I can lift weights. I can squat low. I can work out twice a day. I'm able to cut and move and stop, able to cut and go. I feel like I'm 31 years old again. And now, I have scientific evidence to show that.”

Isaiah Thomas became a fan favorite with the Boston Celtics, making back-to-back All-Star appearances and averaging 28.9 points per game during the 2016-17 season.

But the 31-year-old has not been able to recapture the success he found in Beantown.

The Celtics traded Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Kyrie Irving ahead of the 2017-18 season. Thomas struggled with injuries and was eventually moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he finished out the season.

After playing just 12 games with the Denver Nuggets during the 2018-19 season, Thomas signed with the Washington Wizards to be the starting point guard this past year.

The 31-year-old averaged 12.2 points and 3.7 assists in 40 games, but he was a consistent defensive liability, and Washington traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of the deadline. Thomas was promptly waived and has not been picked up since.

Isaiah Thomas feels he can still help a contender, and he hopes a clean bill of health will help him find a potential suitor this offseason.
