The Philadelphia 76ers look to continue their hot performance against the New York Knicks in order to keep the top seed in the Eastern Conference. However, the Sixers know it won't be easy with the ‘Bockers having a surprisingly good season. With that said, it’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a 76ers-Knicks prediction and pick.

The 76ers have won eight of their last 10 and are currently the top seeds in the East, one game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks, meanwhile, are coming off a close win against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night to get back to .500 and a record of 21-21.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening 76ers-Knicks odds.

NBA Odds: 76ers-Knicks Odds

Philadelphia 76ers +1 (-113)

New York Knicks -1 (-107)

Over 213.5 Points (-110)

Under 213.5 Points(-110)

Why The 76ers Could Cover The Spread

Joel Embiid knee injury Sixers

The already empty-handed 76ers, who are without Seth Curry and Joel Embiid, may also be without Ben Simmons as they take on a great defensive team in the Knicks.

It interesting to note that the Sixers are currently on a 14-game winning streak against the Knicks and have won the two games so far this season, which may come to an end Sunday night.

Without Embiid and Simmons, the 76ers will need to rely heavily on Tobias Harris who has been averaging 20.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season.

While Harris had a big game on Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings, the Sixers also saw contributions from the entire team and had nearly all eight players score in double digits.

That's not likely to happen again since the Knicks are a great defensive team, allowing the fewest points by an opponent in the league as compared to the Kings who allow the second-most points by an opponent in the NBA.

The 76ers will need a big offensive game from Tobias Harris, as well as contributions from role players like Shake Milton, Danny Green and Matisse Thybulle if they want a shot cover the spread and pick up the win. Additionally, they are a solid defensive team as well and will need to do their best to contain Julius Randle.

Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread

Julius Randle, Knicks, Kings

The Knicks have won six of their last 10 games and are shocking everybody this season as they currently sit in the 6th seed in the eastern conference.

New York is being led by Randle, who is having a career season averaging 22.9 points,11.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists.

In his last two games, Randle has put up 18 points, 10 rebounds and 17 assists against the Orlando Magic and 19 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Knicks will need another big game from the big man and contributions from Alec Burks, RJ Barrett and Reggie Bullock. In addition, they  will need to come out as a team with energy on the defensive end as they go up against an undermanned Sixers squad.

This should be a fairly easy night for the Knicks if the 76ers are without Ben Simmons, who has been listed as questionable to play.

Final 76ers-Knicks Prediction & Pick

The Knicks look to end their 14-game losing streak to the 76ers as they battle them without Joel Embiid and potentially without Simmons. Expect Julius Randle to continue his dominant play and the Knicks to contain Harris and the 76ers.

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION & PICK FOR 76ERS-KNICKS: PHI 90, NYK 102 (NYK -1)
