Kevin Durant looks like one of the top MVP candidates so far this season for the Nets, and James Harden has improved of late after a slow start to the season. The Nets are big favorites over the Magic in this one, which comes as no surprise.

Why The Magic Can Cover The Spread
The Magic are severely outmatched in this one, but the size of the spread reflects that. Orlando can cover in this one as long as they don't completely meltdown, but taking them with the points still feels risky. This play will likely be cutting it close, as the Nets figure to lead by double-digits for some if not most of this game.
The Magic are still without two of their better players, Jonathan Issac and Markelle Fultz, as they roll out the youngest starting lineup in the NBA. The Magic could cover, but it's a little sketchy hoping the final margin is 13 or less. Could just as easy be a 15 or 20-point win for the Nets, who should have an edge in basically every area in this one.
Why The Nets Can Cover The Spread
Durant and Harden should both go off vs. a young and inexperienced Magic team. The absences of Nic Claxton, Paul Millsap and Joe Harris hurts to be sure, but the Nets should have enough to handle the Magic. If they were at full strength, this spread might be 16 or 17 points. Durant and Harden should both use this game as a chance to build chemistry with the players that are active for the Nets.
Brooklyn is a good play to cover this spread on Friday, as the Magic have no business playing with them. Orlando has played some teams tough a few times this season, so the Nets are no lock, but they seem favorable compared to betting on the Magic.
