The San Antonio and Phoenix Suns will matchup on Monday night in a Western Conference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Spurs-Suns prediction and pick.

The Spurs and Suns will play on Monday as the Suns will look to bounce back from their Friday night loss to the Golden State Warriors. The loss snapped a franchise-record 18-game winning streak by Phoenix. The Spurs have been hot of late as well, winners of their last four games after a 4-13 start to the season. Phoenix comes into this matchup as big favorites over the Spurs, which comes as no surprise. Chris Paul will be the best player on the floor, and the Suns will still have a solid supporting cast despite the absence of Devin Booker.

Why The Spurs Can Cover The Spread

The Spurs are red-hot as winners of four in a row. One of those wins was a win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson are both off to strong starts this season. Murray impressively leads the Spurs in points, rebounds and assists. San Antonio will look to take advantage of the fact that the Suns will be without star guard Devin Booker in this one. Booker injured his hamstring last week and will seemingly miss a few weeks. The Spurs could be in good shape for a cover or even an upset win Monday vs. the Suns, but it will be tough. Chris Paul is on fire and more than capable of leading a good Suns team to wins in Booker's absence.

San Antonio is 12-9 against the spread this season and 4-7 on the road. Over their last four games, the only team to score more than 99 points against the Spurs was the Warriors on Saturday.

Why The Suns Can Cover The Spread

The Suns will always be in relatively good shape with Chris Paul as long as they are somewhat healthy. Booker is the only main contributor out for the Suns right now, so Paul should be able to elevate the rest of the rotation to help make up for Booker being out of the lineup. Phoenix will be the better team on Monday night even without their star guard, as they will still have a Hall of Fame point guard in addition to solid pieces like Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder and others. The Suns should still present plenty of challenges for the Spurs on both ends of the floor.

Phoenix is 13-10 vs. the spread this season and 10-2 at home.

Final Spurs-Suns Prediction & Pick

This could be a closer game than people expect if the Spurs continue their hot play of late. San Antonio is dangerous in this spot as a hot underdog that is still getting quite a few points. Phoenix will have to continue to operate without their highest volume scorer in Booker, which may again prove to be a difficult task. The Suns scored just 96 points in their loss to the Warriors on Friday. Take the Spurs and points in this matchup, as they have been hot of late.

Final Spurs-Suns Prediction & Pick: Spurs +7.5 (-110)
