The Golden State Warriors are nursing a one-game lead against the 9th seed Memphis Grizzlies as the two teams being a two-game set against one another. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Warriors-Grizzlies prediction and pick.

The Warriors have been better than originally thought as they currently hold the 9th seed in the western conference with a record of 21-20. The team will be without four key players tonight, including Stephen Curry, to begin their two-game set with the Grizzlies as they continue to try and secure a playoff spot.

The Grizzlies have lost three of their last four games but only see themselves one game behind the Warriors with a record of 18-19. The young team will look to take advantage of the Warriors who are most likely without two of their key guys in Stephen Curry and Kelly Oubre.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening Warriors-Grizzlies odds.

NBA Odds: Warriors-Grizzlies Odds

Golden State Warriors +7.5 (-115)

Memphis Grizzlies -7.5 (-105)

Over 220.5 Points (-110)

Under 220.5 Points(-110)

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Warriors are most likely without Stephen Curry, Kelly Oubre, James Wiseman, and Eric Paschall tonight against the Grizzlies.

Most notably, the Warriors will be missing Curry's offensive firepower where he has so far been averaging 29.0 points while hovering around 50% from the field and 40% behind the three-point line in addition to tacking on 6.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds.

With such a big presence gone for the Warriors, the team will need huge performances from both Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green.

Andrew Wiggins is having just another okay season putting up 17 points and 2.1 assists per game. He'll need to handle the ball more with both Curry and Oubre out and simply needs a dominant performance.

Draymond Green, on the other hand, is not as offensively talented but continues to impress this season with his ball-making skills as he averages 8.5 assists per game. With Curry out, Green will need to handle the ball more on the offensive end and get his teammates open.

Aside from these two players, the Warriors will need the players typically off the bench and playing limited minutes to be productive on the offensive floor, such as Jordan Poole, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damion Lee, and Kent Bazemore.

It'll be a tough night for the Warriors against a really talented young team in the Grizzlies. If Wiggins and Green can each have a big game with productive minutes from the players off the bench, the Warriors will have a chance to upset the Grizzlies tonight and cover the spread.

Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread

The Grizzlies are coming off a huge win against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.

No one had a big night for the Grizzlies but rather everyone contributed on both ends of the floor where all 10 players that saw minutes put up at least five points and they held the Heat to 85 points, 36% from the field, and 23% from behind the three-point line.

The issue with the Grizzlies has been inconsistent play with any young and inexperienced team. That said, if Ja Morant and the other starters for the Grizzlies can have a better night while seeing contributions from players off the bench, they should cruise towards a win tonight against a Warriors' team without Stephen Curry and Kelly Oubre.

Final Warriors-Grizzlies Prediction & Pick

The Warriors are coming into this came missing arguably three starters and most notably of them three, Stephen Curry. If they want a shot to cover the spread they'll need huge performances from both Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green on top of solid performances from players off the bench. Lucky for the Warriors is that they don't know what Grizzlies team they'll be seeing tonight. The young team has been inconsistent this season and has lost three of their last four games. Still, the Grizzlies should easily win this game and cover the spread if they can perform the same as they did against the Miami Heat Wednesday night.
