Just to be clear, Amar’e Stoudemire’s retirement was as an NBA player.

A few days after, news ran around about his basketball options overseas, which weren’t really surprising considering the countries involved. China and Israel were the two rumored destinations for the owner of a number of thunderous posterizers over his career.

According to international basketball news authority David Pick, Stoudemire has decided to play in a more comfortable situation in Israel.

Over the years, Amar’e Stoudemire has been very vocal in his desire to immerse himself in the Jewish culture and traditions.

He has the Star of David tattooed on his hand, and, some time ago, the former NBA player also sought to become an Israeli citizen.
