The future of the NBA is high-tech, and today, NBA commissioner Adam Silver unveiled the smart jersey of the future for all the world to see.

ESPN was on hand to watch Silver kick off the All-Star Technology Summit with a hi-tech jersey.

“Adam Silver used an app on a phone to change the number and name on the back of a jersey that was displayed on the side of the stage where he spoke, flipping it from a Kemba Walker model to a Stephen Curry model to a Michael Jordan model. Silver laid out what a fully customizable fan experience may look like in the NBA in 2038, right down to changing the name on the jersey those fans wear to games. The tech summit is in its 20th year and draws hundreds of top league executives. Panels are scheduled on sports betting, disruptive technology, the relationship between athletes and technology, and ways to attract fans of the so-called Gen Z — the 2.5 billion people worldwide born between 1997 and 2010.”

The American lawyer and businessman went on to say that he “hasn't given much thought” to inquiries from team owners about the rumors of him switching leagues.

Adam Silver, who hasn't been the NBA commission for a long time, has the NFL coming after him according to some reports. However, he hasn't given much thought to the process, even though several NFL team owners have reportedly asked him to become the commissioner over there, since he enjoys doing what he does for the NBA.
