Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving is making sure that his side is as clear as day when it comes to his controversial stand against the COVID-19 vaccine. On Thursday, the former NBA champ hopped on Instagram Live to double down on his decision to not get vaccinated despite official word from the team that he won't be allowed to join as a full-time participant.

“I'm standing with all those that believe what is right,” Irving said on IG (via Shams Charania of The Atheltic). “Everybody is entitled to do what they feel is what's best for themselves. Seeing the way this is dividing our world up, it's sad to see. People are losing jobs to mandates,”

Hearing his tone and his actual words, it's clear that Irving will not be forced into simply getting vaccinated for the sake of it. The 29-year-old has been firm in enabling individuals to make their own choices and decide for themselves as he continues on his goal to be the ‘voice of the voiceless.'

Although one can side with the Nets star and argue that it is silly that people lose jobs and aren't allowed to do things based on their personal decisions not to get vaccinated, it's also quite tricky given that science and data tell us that getting vaccinated is indeed the more responsible approach in trying to deal with this unprecedented global pandemic.

Unfortunately, this societal divide isn't helping the world recover from COVID-19 and it seems that issues like this will continue to split us all up.
