The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets are set to take each other on Thursday night in Ben Simmons' return to the City of Brotherly Love. Simmons, who has drawn the ire of nearly every Sixers fan, was expected to face a sea of angry Philadelphia fans, even though he isn't playing in the game. The Sixers fans certainly didn't disappoint, as they showered Simmons with boos as he walked onto the court. However, the real trolling occurred when he began taking shots on the court, as reported by NBC Sports Philadelphia.

This is hilarious. Nets star guard Ben Simmons walked the ball toward the hoop and standing directly under the basket, dunked the ball as warmups went on. Sixers fans proceeded to cheer Simmons sarcastically for his completed dunk.

Sixers fans probably had visions of that easy basket Simmons had in the playoffs last year against the Atlanta Hawks, when he passed up the ball, to the chagrin of Philly fans. Hence the sarcastic applause, which was a very creative way to troll the Nets guard.

Sixers fans seriously deserve credit for this expert-level trolling. After all, no one expected them to cheer Simmons for any reason.

The pregame to this contest arguably garnered more hype than the actual game. It will be hard for anything to top this.
