The Brooklyn Nets continued to round out their roster on Monday night. They agreed to re-sign shooting guard Theo Pinson to a two-year deal.

Michael Scotto of the Athletic broke the news via Twitter:

Theo Pinson will return to play his second pro season with the newly revamped Nets. In his rookie campaign, the North Carolina product averaged 4.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists a game in only 18 games of playing time.

Clearly, Pinson's numbers weren't blowing anyone away. However, he is an athletic wing with good length and size. The Nets must see some potential in the young man to offer him anything more than a one-year deal.

Pinson went unchosen in the 2018 draft but has shown that he could serve as a productive bench player in the NBA. While he is not an offensive threat, his athleticism and reach have served him well on the defensive end. If he could develop a decent 3-point shot, Pinson might have a shot at landing a good contract in the next two years.

Right now, the Nets are focused on the health of a different lengthy wing player: Kevin Durant. The team's future relies on how Durant returns and if he will be the same player after his heartbreaking injury.

Even if he can't suit up to play, Pinson would be smart to pick Durant's brain now that they are teammates. Perhaps Durant can help mold him into a key Nets piece while the Slim Reaper is forced to watch from the sidelines.
