After a difficult last year or so with the Philadelphia 76ers, Jahlil Okafor is finally free to resume his career with the Brooklyn Nets. But while the 22-year-old big man says he's happy in his new home, he is clearly still not ready to get over the treatment he received during the tail-end of his tenure in Philly.

According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Okafor has pointed the finger at the Sixers and their staff as to why he's out of shape.

“That’s why I’m happy, I’m here with the actual NBA coaching staff that’s taking care of me every day. When I was in Philly, I was figuring it out on my own. I had my own trainer [Rick Lewis] that I’ve been working with since eighth grade working me out. But it’s a different level when you’re actually working with an NBA staff.”

The Sixers have received a lot of criticism for their handling of the Okafor situation and Okafor’s allegations of the team basically abandoning him won’t help the perception of the franchise to other players.

Of course, Okafor’s comments should also be taken with a grain of salt as he could just be salty that he was unable to get any playing time, which was also a major factor in his lack of game fitness.
