It's finally happening. After nearly three months of not playing, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving will soon suit up for the team again. The Nets have allowed Irving to return after initially benching him for reasons of not getting vaccinated. With the Nets losing players left and right due to COVID-19, the time is ripe for Uncle Drew to return.

No one is happier about this Irving news than James Harden, who has been carrying the team the past few games with Kevin Durant out due to the virus. Here's what he had to say about Irving's return, via ClutchPoints' Dave Early.

“We all know how special of a talent Kyrie is. What he means to this organization and our team. Just to be around him, even if it’s only for road games is gonna be huge for us. Obviously makes all of our jobs a lot easier. But we miss having him around.”

The Nets aren't exactly struggling without half of their roster, as they've still won games despite being stricken by health protocols. However, more help is certainly welcome for the team. Close calls such as the Los Angeles Lakers almost coming back from 20 points down on Christmas Day can be avoided with Irving's presence on the court.

That being said, there's no rush within the Nets to bring back Irving immediately. The team is taking its sweet time and allowing the star point guard to ramp back up to form. There's no news about his refusal to take the vaccine, but at this point, even just playing in away games will be of great help.
