Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has been a feasted upon by critics over the last few years for his antics on and off the court. In a recent missive, Irving told his haters to look at his resume and on-court “art.”

Irving spoke with his sister Asia in an Instagram live chat to discuss the latest Kyrie 6 colorway that she designed. Irving is well-aware that critics and NBA fans have been making fun of him for his eye-brow raising antics. But for him, what matters most is what he's been doing over the past decade for the basketball community and society.

“It's about on the court, look at my resume, look at the classics, look at my art,” he said. “I created it for going on 10-plus years now. Don't play with me. Don't play with what I do on a day in and day out basis to provide and go out there and create.”

Irving noted how much he sacrifices each year by being away from his family for seven months at a time. For Kyrie, he's not just some “commodity” that people can poke and make fun of. Rather, he's out there to entertain legions of basketball fans with his dazzling skills. And off the court, he's out there on the frontlines trying to use his voice to affect social reform.

As always, Irving spoke straight from the heart and right at his critics. Amid all the hate hurled at him for his opinions, Irving remains true to himself and what he believes in.
