The Brooklyn Nets have dealt with a lot of moving pieces within their roster the past few weeks. The team just got Kevin Durant back into the lineup, along with recent trade acquisitions Andre Drummond and Seth Curry. Meanwhile, Ben Simmons has yet to make his season debut as a member of the Nets.

Another piece that has contributed to the Nets' lack of stability this season is Kyrie Irving. The point guard hasn't played in games in Brooklyn due to his personal decision to remain unvaccinated against COVID-19. However, there is optimism within the Brooklyn franchise moving forward. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski shared his thoughts on the topic on NBA Today. Anthony Puccio tweeted the clip Wednesday afternoon.

“I think around the Nets there's still a confidence, maybe even more than an optimism that they're going to get Kyrie Irving on a full-time basis at some point,” Woj said Wednesday.

The NBA insider also pointed out the recent change in mandates the New York Mayor Eric Adams put into place recently. Things seem to be moving in the right direction for Brooklyn, which is a positive sign for the Nets and Irving's home debut this season.

“Certainly you've seen a progression in the mayor's office of alleviating restriction but still the performer restriction that keeps Kyrie Irving out hasn't changed.”

For now, the Nets continue to play their home games without Irving. They will attempt to beat the 76ers in a dramatic matchup in Philadelphia Thursday night. James Harden, Ben Simmons, and three other players involved in the February trade will face their former teammates for the first time since the deal went down.
