The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors were reportedly finalists for Patty Mills. However, the veteran point guard has shocked everybody and is headed to the Brooklyn Nets on a two-year deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Mills choosing the Nets just adds to their impressive arsenal of talent, on the same day they added James Johnson and brought back Bruce Brown. The Nets now have a dangerous bench and a legitimate playmaker and scorer in Mills, something they needed after both Kyrie Irving and James Harden went down with injuries in the playoffs.

Mills had been a member of the San Antonio Spurs since 2011 and has landed in Brooklyn. The Nets' talented Big 3 of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant just got another big boost, and surely LeBron James and the Lakers aren't happy about Mills' decision to head east.

Brooklyn also added Blake Griffin back, but lost Jeff Green and Spencer Dinwiddie, although the signing of Mills will help deal with the loss of Dinwiddie, who is likely headed to the Washington Wizards on a big-time contract.

NBA free agency continues to move quickly and there are still some big names on the market, including DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard, although Leonard is likely to return to the Los Angeles Clippers.
