Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has often used his shoes this season to pay tribute to athletes. On Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers, he did it again.

This time, the Nets rising star paid homage to tennis legend Serena Williams.

Spencer Dinwiddie, who notched 13 points for the game, thinks highly of Serena Williams. In fact, this isn't the first time that he expressed his admiration for one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Back in Aug. 2018, Dinwidie took to Twitter to ask his followers, “Who's the best athlete of all time?” and noted that Serena is “definitely in the conversation.”

Interestingly, Williams responded to the tribute by Dinwiddie and made sure to thank the Nets star.

This is undoubtedly a class act from Dinwiddie.

On the season, Dinwiddie is averaging 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season. He is shooting 45.3 percent overall, 35.9 percent from 3-point territory and 78.8 percent from the free-throw line. The 25-year-old is also one of the reasons why the Nets are in playoff contention right now, with his partnership with D'Angelo Russell proving to be lethal.

Due to a terrific showing at the start of the season, the Nets signed Dinwiddie to a three-year, $34.4 million extension, which dissuades him from being an unrestricted free agent again until 2022.
